I named DearMax after my 8-year-old son. Understanding what the future looks to my son and his generation has made me want to do more to help make a difference. Trying to do something that makes an impact, while sticking to the thing I do best, makes the most sense to me...so making cozy, beautiful cashmere sweaters is what I'm choosing to do - and to do differently from the rest of the luxury market.
By changing the way we make our sweaters, we can do our part to create a sustainable fashion eco-system and work towards a healthier planet. By giving back some of our proceeds to charities that are important to me and many others, we can work towards a healthier community. To me, these feel like good places to start!
Our Product
DearMax has created its own unique silhouette with a clean, bulk-less fit and elegant drape, suitable for year round use in all climates. Our sweaters are made for all genders and ages.
We are launching with one silhouette, the perfect crew neck sweater: “The Max”, available in a bunch of great colors. Each limited edition run, is done in a small batch production and is made in the USA. Our sweaters are made to last and to be passed down.
Each sweater comes with an embroidered message tucked discreetly under the arm — we call it a lucky charm — a charm that makes you smile or sometimes just helps to get you through the day.
Our Values
-
Supply Chain: Sustainability,
Traceability and Transparency
For the cashmere yarn, we use the finest Italian cashmere which is part of the SFA program. The Sustainable Fiber Alliance certification provides a rigorous audit system that covers sourcing, supply chain and environmental stewardship. -
Low Waste
Philosophy
Our sweaters are produced in Los Angeles using 3D / WHOLEGARMENT® technology pioneered by the innovative Japanese knitting machinery company Shima Seiki. These machines produce a seamless sweater that comes out as a single garment, generating zero to minimal waste. -
Compostable Packaging &
Recyclable Materials
We're committed to a circular economy. Every element of our packaging is recyclable and compostable, or can be repurposed. Once disposed of, our packaging will break down naturally without leaving behind pollutants. -
Community / Giving Back
Each year we will partner with a non-profit “friend of the house” and donate a percentage of sales to support their mission. Our first partnership is with Baby2Baby, a national non-profit organization that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves.
